I've tried but have had zero results....I've always been told it doesn't work once it gets dark. Some might have different experiences than me.

I've done it but tend to do better on regular cranks. Chartreuse square bill from sun set to lights out can b really good.

I've had some success with square bills at night on rip rap banks.

My best experience at night is with dark colors: Black/Blue, Green Pumpkin, Black Neon

Black/Blue spinnerbaits, Green pumpkin 10" worms, Black Neon flipping type baits.

I do know of a guy who would fish DD 22's at night. He would get them painted black. Carlos Rivera could do that for you I bet.

+1

Boat ramps can also be productive at night.

Never tried square bills at night, but I'd experiment with UV glow/fluorescent/luminous paint finishes/stripes/highlights.

You'd be better off with that Hildebrandt in black with a gold #7 Colorado, doc.

I have always been a big believer in darker colors (black and blue) for night fishing BUT I got thoroughly out-fished one night on Lake Grapevine by a partner who was throwing white/chart crankbaits.

I fish dark colors at night because you are suppose to. I always wondered if it really matters as I see them feeding on bait fish and those bait fish don't change colors when the sun goes down.

Solid black or lite blue if bright moon.

I asked a guide this once....his comment was along the lines of the baitfish don't change color at night so why change your lure color?

I've done well on Austin with square bills at night. I don't think color matters unless there is a bright moon
