So I've been put on guide duty for my wifes family over July 4th weekend and she has requested a ladder! so far I like this one because you can remove it which only leaves the bracket. Has anyone used this type or recommend a different one?

Thanks

The day after catching a lot of fish is still a good day.

I had the ladder in your link on a previous boat and it was ok for swimming and skiing, but a pain to store in the boat when not in use. I currently have the "All Aboard Ladder" and like it much better. It is always in place and easy to deploy if you ever go for an accidental swim.

This what I have. You might call them and see if it would fit your boat.

Couple years ago I injured my knee in an accident & had knee surgery. Went to fork right after surgury w/a friend in the middle of summer and it was Africa hot and I had to jump in to keep from "spontaneous combustion". He had that little jack plate ladder on his Yamaha SHO and I almost could not get back into the boat. I'm all better now but it got me to thinking what's it going to be like later or even if I could get my older father back in the boat without a good ladder if the need arises. The one D Thomas shows the link to above looks similar to my stock Ranger ladder that is always ready but out of the way and when you ever need it is as easy as well...climbing a ladder.

I have one that folds up against the transom when not in use. Metal one that only has two steps, but does the trick! Wife used it this past weekend.

Too late to help you ( I think??) for the 4th of July but, I had to make the same decisions. I NEEDED, not just wanted, a ladder that was sturdy AND functional enough to be in the water and easy to get back in the boat WITH grab rails. Hard to find but, finally found one that fit my Stratos.
I don't know if you want one like this but, C&O Marine found it for me, kinda expensive $300 plus installation but, how much is life worth?
Anyhow, here is what I wanted and ended up with:

Prevented me from getting the much wanted 2nd Talon but, had to make a choice.
Getting back in the boat wins every time. BTW: The 'trick' of riding the motor up is ok and usually works BUT, transitioning from the motor to the deck of the boat can be VERY HARD to do.
Keep that in mind.
Just my 2 cents,
God Bless

Lee, too true. Forever I have heard people say "just ride the motor up". Well pretty sure most are talking about something they heard not actually done. We were swimming off the boat a couple years ago and I went ahead and tried the "trick". I'm fit enough to drag my butt over the side without a ladder and could barely perform the "ride the motor up" trick. When I get too old to be able to drag myself over the side of a bass boat without a ladder I garantee I won't be able to perform "the trim trick". To all those who think this is their "life safety plan" when you fall in the 40 degree water all bundled up in December: better actually practice loading yourself back in the boat using the trim and standing on the skag. You are probable using a life saving plan that was told to you by someone who only heard about it themselves. AdvTX: since we are talking about your in-laws, how much are they worth? Really a big investment for one weekend but good convienince & safty upgrade to your boat that really is not in the way.

I posted this awhile back on how hard it is to get back in a bass boat. Things were a lot different when I was 18 years old.

Ended up getting this one from BPS after the one I ordered online didn't fit correctly. We had 3 kids and 2 adults using it all weekend and it worked perfectly.

I mounted it using 1/4 SS screws with washers and lock nut on the inside of the transom it took some time to get it all right but wasn't to bad.
