Looking to buy one of these reels for my beach trips. It's a fairly cheap reel and people seem to like the brand a lot, wanted to hear if anyone has experience with the fin nor lethal, particularly in the size 80? Getting it to fish kings and jacks off the pier, I'm scared the 60 is a little small and I will get spooled but the 80 just seems like a big reel. Spooling with 20lb mono. Anything helps!!

I have had the Lethal 100 for about four months now, and will be using it in Galveston next weekend for the first time. I spooled mined with 80# FINS Braid for partyboat fishing. It's a big reel and it's a BEAST! I have never fished with a reel that had 50#'s of drag! Hoping to get past the endangered snapper, and hook up some grouper.

I would go with the 80 for the line capacity and drag. I read many reviews about these reels, and the Lethal 100 was rated as a top quality budget reel. The Okuma Azores was my 2nd choice. If I chose the Lethal 80, I would probably spool it with 50# braid. You never know when that big bull red or blacktip shark may surprise you!

Thanks for the great info! appreciate it, the only reason i want mono is because of the stretch, fished braid last year and broke fish off that killed me. Giant kings, it does hold 330 yards of 20lb mono, which an insane amount of line. I just want to make sure the 80 isn't too big in my hands where its overkill, I'm going to purchase really soon. Any way you can post a picture of the 100 compared to your hands or something i can judge how big it is? Again thanks a ton for the info!!
