Went out this am to Ray Hubbard for a bit to try my luck. Started off the west side of Robertson Park, marked fish in 12-20' but could never catch anything. After fishing that for ~45 minutes went over and joined the fiberglass hatch on the west side of the park. Again, lots of spread out fish marked, but not much action.

Finally a little top water started, and managed to catch two little sandies before everyone took notice. Then there was THAT GUY in a ski boat running through the school with his big motor. Everytime he'd pull right into 'em, catch a single, then they'd move down for 4 minutes - rinse, repeat.

So left that, and went and fished old levees, riverbeds, and the rocks by the power plant - no bites.

Finally went back to trolling, seems that's about the only way I can catch fish right now. Caught two west of Roberston, four more around the I30 bridge. All on shad pattern cranks trolling just under 4mph.

Anybody got any hints on patterns for Hubbard right now? I can't seem to find active fish much on Ray Hubbard.

On a positive note, my new iPilot is working wonders! It is so nice not to have to worry about keeping on the TM all the time. Hit that anchor button, get your fish off, and you are still in the same damn spot! (I had to convert my old Powerdrive electronics to a Powerdrive 2 board - much cheaper than buying a whole new TM to add iPilot. I made a thread Powerdrive V1 -> V2 conversion if anyone else is interested in adding one to an old PD.)

Gonna try to get out there tomorrow again. If anybody sees me, feel free to say hi. fish

Well, got out early this morning and on water by 6. Luckily decided to try to get some bait by the dock. Two casts in, BOOOOOMMM!

No bait, lots of lightning and rain. Sitting it out in the truck right now. Hopefully the fish are waiting too.

Sloveless I saw your boat out there today. It was rough fishing for us today. We hung out under the I30 bridge while until the storm passed. And man was that a storm! After that was over we found a some barely legal sandbass action for about 45 minutes. Other that that the fish were still scattered.

Ringer - yeah that storm was crazy. I had even looked at the radar before I left the house at it was clear. That cell just blew up out of nowhere!

I prob could have gotten out there earlier, but I followed my 15 min rule. 15 minutes of not hearing any thunder until I go back out.

The sandies I've gotten into have all been tiny too. It would take about 6 fish just to make a decent meal for two! Glad you got into some.

Say hello if you see me out, if I'm on fish (doesn't happen often) I'll let you know. fish
