Read this morning where the PWD dumped 204,000 Fingerling Florida Hybrid Bass into Medina Lake ! Also Read where Debra Hengst Assisted in helping the PWD. A great article with pics of the Stocking from the San Antonio Express News. Hope the lake holds water long enough for them to grow up !! All the flooded regrowth will help them take off for sure.

It was great that TP&W restocked Medina yesterday. What a exciting day to see that many baby bass and realize that one day they could be on the end of my line.

Perfect timing too. I was up there two weekends ago and was excited to see a ton of fry (too small to identify) in the water near a dock - and about 8-10 perch hanging around. Food chain kicked right off with the new water/nutrients.

I'm going to go off topic real quick... I though I would be an old man before Medina came close to ever filling up again. 15' low as of 5:00pm and going to keep on coming up the next few days.

I love it that the lake is finally looking like the lake of old, but then reality sets in and I think back all those years about how fast they can let the water out of that lake.
Hopefully with enough people complaining and calling for better management, it will be around for a while.

With all new covers /plants underwater it will make great nest for those fingerlings but that lake seriously needs some bait fish as well like plenty of shad and sunfish ...otherwise it's fingerlings party out there for those hungry bass ,white bass ,hybrids ,crappie and those catfish .

The lake looked awesome yesterday as the lake continues to rise. Big black balls of shad and minnows have been seen the last two weeks. As of this morning Sunday Fathers Day June 21st the official lake level stands at 16.63.
