Thanks for letting me know about Raven. I won't be fishing there for awhile. Why can't they just leave that dang lake alone?

Conroe certainly doesn't have any grass or pads in it. Unless you know of some small maybe even private lake, I can't think of another body of water around Conroe to go to. You're probably going to have to drive a little. Since you are by no means a newbie to TFF and you live around Conroe, you should probably know the area as well as anyone on here. I would think that you are aware of Gibbons Creek and Sheldon Reservoir. Luces Bayou has pads on it but I have never had any luck there with topwater. Fairfield might offer some topwater. The one and only time I went to Limestone, it had lots of pads.

Be safe,

Thanks Rayzor, I havnt been to gibbons creek in about 10 years, raven has a few scattered pads but not anything like it used to be last year. Dunno if its because of the hyacinth choking them out or it got sprayed again.

Go to Houston county in Crockett and throw a frog up there. Flooded bank grass, docks, and some pads on east end of Lake. Plenty of big fish.

When they are on it they are on it, when they are of they are off, seems like they will kill a frog relentlessly one day and won't touch one the next.

I had around 17lbs in two hours in luces a while back, on a random monday afternoon. two days later not one bite on topwater, same conditions.

I was going to say Houston County and I forgot to. The back side of the island gets pads and you can really do well there. I caught a 6+ there in the past on a Rage Tail.

I've found that to happen a ton when the water level changes or begins to change. It can drop an inch and it just shuts it off. It's crazy out there.

Sometimes I launch there if I'm just gonna make a quick trip and just want to hit the bayou.

I typically launch at lake Houston marina and just go wherever from there.

I think $7 on the honor system in an envelope, good ramp though.

Yes put 7bucks cash in the envelope with your name phone number and truck plate number.

There is not a store or anything there so make sure to have exact change.

It's decently kept up and a good ramp they extended it a few years bad during the low water levels so it goes way out now at full pool
