Thinking about fishing pk tomorrow for the first time, I normally fish whitney, but no ramps are currently open so I have been fishing twok, but the weather looks alot better at pk tomorrow. Any suggestions where I should launch, or look for bait. Thanks

I think every ramp is open. Water will be clearer toward the dam. I see a lot of bait in all the creeks that come into the lake but it's small. Not sure where to find shad bigger than one inch.

Good luck.

Just checked the water on the south side of the lake. The water is has about 1-2 feet of visibility. I wouldn't fish past Gaines bend. The water looks pretty muddy at south d&d.

Pk was pretty slow yesterday by the dam. It needs to clear up some.

I will second that Randy. I even had trouble fishing last night with a green light. My normal 50 foot circle of light got real small. Caught a few sand bass but they had trouble seeing the bait. I did see some big shadows but who knows what they are.

I think this year is a bust at least for me. I took my 175 tracker all the way up neely slough and caught some perch on worms where the clear water is coming in. I only got one bite from the perch and the fish got off before I could get it in. There is so much trash in the water its hard to tell what is bait, fish or trash.

Went last weekend for the first time. The water is EXTREMELY muddy the further north you go. It was fairly clear down by the dam. I would not go back unless fishing by or very near the dam. Launch as close to the dam as possible unless you want to make a long run.

Give it a week or so of no rain. Regardless, there will be a pretty steep learning curve. I would suggest all non-resident fishermen pick another lake this Summer.
