Hi everybody, I'm new here. I usually take a trip to Navarre FL every year and do a lot of kingfishing on the pier there. Ive seen videos of people catching kings on the Bob Hall Pier, and I want to start fishing there more often, although i know it is a very different type of fishing. I want to know any recommendations or tips you might have about king fishing this pier. I know that most people seem to be using a trolley rig set up there, and I was also looking for an affordable fighting rod setup. I saw a Penn Slammer/Senator combo that seemed like it would work, and an Offshore Angler Gold cup conventional combo that may work as well. Anyways, What are the best months for this type of fishing, and would I be able to catch kings there during the summer?
I'm looking for any info i can get!

The warmer months are definitely when you want to fish for kings off Bob Hall, especially with calmer conditions and clearer water. As for the tackle tips, I will have to defer to someone with experience fishing for them from piers. You are right in that it is popular to fish for them with trolley rigs.

Trolley rig is by far the most popular means I have seen out there. I am not much of a pier guy, i like to take the kayak out, but I go out there with my in laws when they want to fish. Like TimL said, calm days with clear water are best, and you will want to set up as close to the T as possible. The problem with that is there are people who will stay out there for days when the conditions are good, and finding a spot where the fish are can be impossible. Good luck to you if you try your luck out there!
