Recommendations, please. There's quite a few there, but this will be our 1st trip to ft smith. River is running a little high, but all the fishing reports say excellent fishing with San Juans and sow bugs.

If you are already fairly confident in flyfishing. Bighorn fly and tackle has drift boats for rent and include your launch and pick up shuttle service. Other than that I wouldn't be much help I have never hired a guide. If y'all can agree on switching out on paddling I would think that would be a great idea. I have read a lot on that river and look forward to hitting it you should have a great trip!

They sponsor a Youth Adventure every summer up there. The participants get the opportunity to fish with 4 different guides during that week. My daughter got to go a few years ago and by far, her favorite guide was Merritt Harris. The Bighorn Fly Shop should have his contact information, http://www.bighorntroutshop.com/ .

Here's more info from a while back. That's Merritt in the picture with my daughter..

The river is running faster than normal so they're not renting boats.
