Tied up a few more #10 Spoon flies this time without bead chain. The two top spoon flies I reversed the spoon hoping for more "wobble" from the spoon shape, maybe will give less vibration when stripped, will have to see how they compare.

Have any of you fly tying craftsman ever duplicated the Tony Accetta pet spoon?

I am sure that the shapes could be duplicated and with a extra long shank hook such as a cricket style hook found in Walmart. Good idea must try it.

 I've been working on spoon flys recently so when you mentioned pet spoons I already had a good idea how to make one for the fly. Plastic Dr. Pepper bottle and some HVAC metal tape. Simple but effective and isn't like casting a rock.. if I need to I can bend the long shank hook to give it the pet spoons arch.

Simple but effective and isn't like casting a rock.. if I need to I can bend the long shank hook to give it the pet spoons arch. Thanks for posting this. You have encouraged me to keep trying. I ruined several gateraid bottles trying to find the right curve but just can't seem to get it right. IMHO the pet spoon is the greatest of all. Catches everything in the lake. The thought of having a fly rod version is exciting.

Messed about last night and made some copies of Pet Spoons using the same method as my previous Spoon flies. They need to be tweaked a little more. First on the left last on the right.
