When I purchased an 8ft Pelican Bass Raider a good while ago from Academy Sports & Outdoors,They were no longer selling the 8E( ELECTRIC) models because the company, Pelican I guess, was no longer offering them.Only the 10E were being produced with the troll motor hook up. For some time I wished I had gotten a hold of one before they stopped but thanks to a fellow TFFer, a light bulb came on.One of the pelican Company rep`s sent me pictures of the foam placement inside the 8fter and told me it would be hard to wire one after it had been put together & he was almost right. It`s amazing what some Braided line and a 1/2 oz lead weight can do! I no longer have to worry about tripping over my troll mtr wire thumb

First I tried to use a Fish Tape but the fish tape is curved when it comes out and it finds every little nook & cranny of the foam and gets hung up .So I decided to let sir Isaac Newton help me out.I just propped the boat up and tied a 1/2 oz weight to some braided line ,dropped the weight into the hole at one end and let gravity work the weight down to the other end and grab the braided line with a hanger and pull it thru. Then all I had to do was connect the wires to the braid and pull the wires thru.Simple

I don`t know what other modifications would be substantial. I already have my Troll motor set up with dual transducers for my side scan and down scan unit so I can`t think of anything else hmmm What more have you done with yours?

Nice! I think I'm done now. I fish out of it until I find something else that would make it more convenient for me.

Cool lights! ive got a 14' flat bottom boat that I'd like to set up for night fishing. Where did you get your lights? Any idea, how long they would run with just a "small" battery? like a motorcycle battery? I know I'd need bow and stern light too. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

James

James you can find them on Ebay or Amazon but which ever ones you decide make sure they are waterproof!I used a small 12v battery and powered my strips all night so a motorcycle battery should be ok.I would go with a 5M 5050 RGB LED KIT.There are some Youtube videos on theses strips just Google up LED light strips and see where it takes you. thumb

Did you wire the lights directly thru a toggle switch? No special connecters needed like an invertor or anything? lights-->switch-->battery?
