Just FYI: The lake by Northlake college now has signs around it, say "Do Not Enter, Due to recent flooding the water poses a health risk"

My guess is that this is related to the raw sewage that also got into Lake Carolyn and killed a bunch of fish, probably also got into this area. Not sure how dangerous it is, but I don't want to touch any of that water around Los Colinas for now. Time to find a new spot for awhile.

Another item of interest; The city of Irving also moved the dragon boat festival to Sept 20th, stating "The current date reflects a time delay for the lake to return to a condition safe for human activities. "

Could also be related to fracking chemicals. I have a friend that lives not too far from there that was instructed to boil any water for drinking or cooking and only shower for 5 minutes until further notice.

I saw that sign 2 weeks ago but I've still been fishing it. In fact I fished there yesterday evening and there was a group of 4 other guys fishing it too. There's some serious algae and moss in some areas now but the fish are still biting. I talked to one of the Northlake Cops yesterday who said he was informed it's just a precaution and that nothing has been tested as "dangerous". I don't keep or eat the fish so cant answer to if it's safe to eat but I don't believe in keeping fish out of a pond anyways. It's been a bit harder to find them as I had to move around a bit but they are still in there. I caught 2 yesterday evening in about 1.5 hours.

Northlake is not connected to the canals. It's just a precaution.

I know that spot Hotrodjrd.

Has your hand developed a rash from the water yet smile

I didn't feel like walking past the signs, so went north on McAruther over 114 to the other canal/ditch and got a few Sunday morning. Nothing huge, but easy walk and no snakes.

Those are nice bass, is that the canal that runs behind Red, Hot, & Blue?
