Has anyone tried tawokani lately at night. I have only fished there during day the lakes I normally night fish are closed. I plan on finding fish on structure and setting up with green led's, with live shad. If anyone has any pointers I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I've thought about it but more concerned about people breaking in my truck. If you do go let me know how you do.

Launching at the State Park for night fishing, you better know the gate code or you'll get locked in. I don't understand how they get away with that, needing to make a speedy exit for a medical emergency comes to mind. But I have been locked in there a couple of times when I was out later than expected.
I fish Tawakoni quite a bit at night using submersible lights. It can be extremely productive, and is a great way to beat the heat. I will be getting going on some serious night fishing pretty soon myself.
Holiday Marina has some huge minnows that work quite well. But of course shad do great too, and jigs can be very good as well.
I have not found one place that is heads and shoulders above any other. In fact, I find fish holding in different places on different nights. I search structures I know to hold fish until I find a good concentration of them, then set-up on them. The lights will always help bring some fish to you if you wait long enough. But if you can setup on fish then you'll do better. Even better if you end the day catching some good Hybrids, then throw the lights out when it gets dark. Often they'll hang around and tangle up all your vertical night fishing rigs.
As for vehicle security, I have yet to have any issues with my truck getting messed with at Holiday. I would never leave my truck at a public ramp so late at night, too many trustees of modern chemistry out there.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!
