What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

I would imagine that's what alligators think about humans.

Man always feels the need to control and destroy nature instead of live side by side. They're a native species and not a real problem anyways.

LMAO! I had both of my hands in the water yesterday for quite some time at dark trying to revive and release two hybrids I had. I couldn't help but think at that time how bad it would suck if a gator made an appearance while I was doing that.

Is it possible to do something your whole life and still be an ameteur?

I think we need a lot more of them to scare of the lake lice.

Indeed. This would certainly increase the availability of a few coves during the spring and summer.

Jet skis.

Leave the gators alone and they won't bother you. They were here first, we are the invasive.

Gators been in the Trinity system and Denton Creek/Grapevine for at least the last 45 years that I know of. A huge one was ran over by a car on Trinity Blvd. a few years ago down behind Bell Heli plant in Hurst. Made the news papers. The big boy that lived up in Marshall Creek on GV is probably dead from old age by now.

Lake lice refers to any undesirable non-fishing activity that creates a hazardous wake or some other undesirable activity such as taking half an hour to launch their boat. Jet skis are often lake lice, but not always. They also have their own special name known as Jet Fleas. Lake Lice and Jet Fleas are generally annoying and negatively impact fishing enjoyment. There are other terms but I cannot repeat them here. Occasionally, fishermen can be Lake Lice as well.

I read that and wondered how old that thing was. No telling how long he's been hanging out in the water around there. One day he decides to get a little sunshine and here comes the dang paparazzi smile

9 footer is not that old as far as gators go. A 13 footer would be pretty old. Science says they grow about 1 foot per year until adulthood.

These flood control retention lakes in Las Colinas and elsewhere along trinity have become prime gator habitat.
