Academy has a good solid big crank rod I have thrown these on. I put it on a reel with heavy mono and no break and it casts the 10Xd a country mile!

I throw them on standard med-heavy or heavy rods. No issues here. I use all Kistler Mags now also. The cheap Academy rods will work great for money or even the Abu Garcia

I have been throwing 10xd on a Dobyns 805 CBRM since they came out with no issues great rod.

This, the 10xd is too much for the 805cbrm but good for the 8xd and 6xd, you need a Dobyns 806 cb for the 10xd, if you want a cheaper option check out the mag heavy rod here

I just got the Cabela's tournament ZX Crankshaft rod 7'10" heavy. It's like a broom stick, and I paired it with a 5.5:1 reel. (Curado) I can throw that thing all day on a 10xd. The rod is $109, but I think I got it on sale for $80.
