I just called the Cedar Hill state park.

They said they are estimating the boat ramps will not open before July 6th -

That's crazy - I wonder how some of these lakes will fish after getting nearly a two month break in the midst of the most popular time of year to fish?

I drive over the bridge by Oasis everyday and I wish we could fish it exactly how it stands today.

I'm glad they are getting a break

They released several feet of water but no more.
It is still 13 plus feet over.

I've been tracking the water level and when they release it, it doesn't go down much in a day. Arlington on the other hand was able to release 4 or 5 feet in a day. It is going to be a long wait. I almost bought a bass buster or jon boat just to get out there a bit but they had to go and close the entire lake. The reason was stupid...to prevent vandalism not for safety reasons.

I posted this a few weeks ago, with the threat of much more rain I heard a rumor that Joe Pool may not Re-open until October or November.

While I have been frustrated many times on this lake, I miss the convenience of it being so close to home and having spent quite a bit of time out there the last few years, I miss it now.

I'm wondering if it stays closed through the summer how do you guys think it will impact the fishing? To me I think the fish are getting a big break from the peak months of pressure and the bank fishing has to have dropped way off also. Should help future fishing with less
Pressure this year and it may make the fish a little easier to catch when it opens back up.

October or November? Who is saying that? That seems extreme.

With all the flooded vegetation it will grow the forage fast.

The fish population will grow faster but I don't think you'll notice much of a change when it opens again.

Well, if it waits till October, my entire season is shot. My boat is on a dock at Lynn Creek Marina. I can go "visit" it, but with out power, it stays on the lift!

Looks like my main option if I want to fish this year is to go to other lakes that don't have the problem and hire a guide.

Report in local news is indicating that most likely it will be September when the parks and lake will reopen.

I think the assumption is Sept as long as we don't get too much more rain in the meantime....

I wonder if the Oasis will re-open.. The last pictures I saw it looked like it was still in about 6' of water

I got an email from Lynn Creek but I cant remember the exact content. I remember them saying that the temporary walkway was going back up and that they had temporary or portable power for the lifts. I wish I would have saved it now. I know there are no ramps above water but they made it sound like if you could get out there it was OK. I talked to one of the guys that works for Lynn Creek while they were guarding and he said the Oasis was structurally damaged. The cables that hold it caused it to bow when it couldn't go any higher with rising water.
