I am looking for a new floating green light for my boat. I currently have one I bought from Academy a couple of years ago. The last couple of trips it has had trouble coming on and when it did, it didn't seem as bright.

I primarily use it to attract shad for easy netting before daylight and limited night fishing. I am looking for one with battery clamps or lighter plug.

There seems to be quite a few brands out there that look very similar. I was just wondering if anyone had personal experience with a super-bright, high quality light.

I actually tried all types of green lights, got tired of having to dig them out and plug them in or attach to battery. not to mention having to walk around wires laying on floor, so a few years back I went to the strip lights. all I have to do now is flip a switch. Have had them on last 3 boats, the last 2 sets came from shawn at the tacklesmith

I order from DH Gate directly from China and its excatly what you get here stateside 90% off. DH Gate I have done business with them for over 10 years with no issue other than it takes a while to get your product.

I did this light job for under and outside my pontoon before I sold it. The whole setup cost me $47.00 and the strips were as quality as any I have seen.

I ordered a light last year from Loomis LED. You can check them out on YouTube. It was not cheap. Somewhere around $250 if my memory serves me right. I have only used it a handful of times due to not enough water and now, too much water in area lakes. It is incredible to see how the fish congregate around this light. I would strongly recommend checking out one of these. I am thinking of taking it to Fork or Tawakoni this weekend if the most recent storms didn't kill the water clarity.

I also am interested in adding green LEDs to outside of my boat. I have been looking at purchasing from DH gate mentioned in the above post. I have a few questions...if someone doesn't mind educating me some. I have a 18' bass boat and would like to run lights down both sides. If I order 11 meters(36') will that arrive as one strip? or broke down to several strips? And would I need to order any additional supplies? I'm hoping I can use an existing rocker switch or worse case install another.

Conventionally the strips come in 5 meter increments (16.4'). You can daisy chain them, but it's best to power each one individually for the best results. On an 18' boat, 16.4' would be just about right, but they wouldn't wrap all the way from the transom to the tip of the bow. Grab a tape measure and see where they'd end. Besides that, a switched power source and a little bit of wiring is all that's required. Be advised, the adhesive on the cheaper strips is not that great, so either get something that costs more, or use weatherstrip adhesive to stick them to your boat.

For 12.00 more dollars ou can get an inline remote box that operates off a key fob to turn the lights on and off which kills the need to run switch wires to the console and you can turn them on and off from a 100' away which has a serious cool factor at the ramp
I ordered 4 16 foot strips to do green under the rub rail and white on the interior and two remote boxes one bottle of gorilla super glue and turnkeyed the deal for under 90.00
Been working for 1 year on present boat and 3 years on my last boat
