Got these two reels fixed up. Any advice on some surf rods would be appreciated. Would like something around the 8' range I'm running 30lb line. I've been looking online and ready can't find anything.

I use 10' ugly stiks. They are $75.00 and are great rods for the money. They say heavy action but got plenty of action. They perform more like a medium heavy rod. They are two piece rods but when I assemble them for the first time, I never take them apart. I use Penn jigmaster reels for the surf and have all mine spooled with 30lb big game. Have caught many of bull reds and a few weeks ago caught a 5ft bull shark on one. To me you want something a little longer than 8' because you'll be able to cast a heck of lot further. 10 ft is shortest I will go for a surf rod. Hope this helps.

Yea I was going to go with the big waters but was unsure of the Action. I like circle hooks and need that tip to load up. Academy has them online on sale right now for 50.00 I believe and the only reason I want an 8' is so that I can double it for a freshwater boat rod as well. I'm looking at Okuma Battlecat so I don't know which way I'll go but thanks for.the info on the Ugly Stiks.
