I have been doing a lot of experimenting and observing of my Lews reels.
I have ordered some parts to upgrade the gears in my Speed Spool to the aluminum gear and drive shaft in the Tournament Pro.
The goal is to lighten it up and get better gears without buying a new reel.
The drag washer stacks are different but the dimension of the parts is the same.
While working on my BPS Pro Qualifier I noticed the gear, drive shaft and drag stack looked similar tot eh Lews Tournament Pro.
After comparing the parts, dimensionally they are the same. The BPS parts are made out of brass where as the Lews TP parts are aluminum.
The BPS drag washers are a different material where as the Lews drag washers are Carbon Fiber.
I plan to change out the gears on the BPS PQ with the MUCH lighter gear and shaft from a Lews TP.
I also have a BPS Carbonlite. It has aluminum drive shaft and gear. I wonder......
In comparing the frame and dimensions of the BPS PQ and the AbuG Orra SX, they look identical. More to follow on this one....

I may put together a cross reference for all of these parts if one doesn't already exist. Some folks might like to upgrade their existing reels rather than buy new ones.

yup...all churned off the same assembly lines in Korea (for the upper end models) or China.

Now I will have to call around and see who has the best price for the parts.
