Oh boy. Fork is crawling with these Seriously good post though, that list pretty thoroughly sums up why so many ppl hate fluorocarbon line. If you dont want to pay attention to the details, choose another more forgiving line like co-poly or braid, it will save you tons of frustration and $$.

I think everyone should do their own "break test", on every line and knot, to see when and where it breaks. Tie a single hook, put it behind something solid, (Vise, etc.), and leave about 2 feet of extra, pull until it breaks. You'll be amazed at what happens right before it comes apart, and what it looks like afterwards. Also, everyone should realize that Flouro is a bit more "brittle", and slack line hooksets are apt to break. XPS has proven tougher than any, for me.

Since I've started using Tatsu, I haven't tried anything else. I believe it was Tackle Tour that had it rated the highest of all fluorocarbons. It's really great stuff.
I have also come around to what many have been saying all along..... Fluoro burns, and by definition, you shouldn't be tying a Palomar on a line that can burn when you cinch it.

Ok here is an update. I went with P line 100% 20lb and on first trip caught my personal best at Rayburn on Saturday morning 9lbs on a Zoom Fluke rigged with barrel swivel and 3 foot leader for better action and less line twist. So does Fluorocarbon make a difference...I'm a believer now for sure.
