Ok, I'm wanting to run LEDs inside boat where my existing lights are. Question is, can I just use the existing wires and take the old lights out and wire in the LEDs and roll with it? Or do I need to regulate voltage? Also, can I cut and reuse the 16' roll of lights when I cut it? Have lights in both rod boxes, in console, front deck, and few other places

The existing wiring and voltage are fine. LEDs are far more efficient than in incandescent bulbs. The amp draw will likely be much less after the installation. As for the 16' roll? If it's like the kind I deal with almost daily, you can cut to length along the scissor marks on the circuit tape. Just solder new power and ground wires, paying attention to polarity, and you're good to go. Also, do not rely on the 3M double side tape that is factory installed. It might hold for about 5 minutes. But, the 5 minutes is PLENTY of time for the super glue bead, that you should use, to setup a permanent bond.

I want it bright but not where it's blinding

Some lights are dimmer than others or you can put a dimmer on them. Test your location before prrmanent instal to see how it is at night. You can angle them sometimes to get light but not blind you

You can also use industrial strength Velcro tape to adhere the leds. They worked good for me on my deck, and trailer. Plus, a lot easier to change out if you ever wanted to.
