Afte rr the rain stopped I was able to get out there on Saturday. Morning was beautiful and calm, I was the only one there. I paddle back to the south side and started fishing top water with no luck then switched and bingo! After the second fish I notice something swimming out of the little cove and as I started paddling towards it it splashes and goes under, popping up about 50 yards away. Yeah, an alligator. Here's a few pictures from Saturday.

Considering the fact that they caught an alligator out there in '09, I think this looked a little big to be a beaver.

I did not call TPWD yet as I will call them on Monday.

Beaver's get huge. Had one come out of the creek by my work and it looked to be 40lbs or more.... just a guess though.

I'm also voting on beaver or nutria. If an alligator were making that much wake, I think you'd see more of his back.

There are several big beavers that have their dam back in the creek there.
That is definitely either one of them or a nutria.
