It was a great event with over $110,000 in scholarships awarded. I would like to thank those who make this trail a success including but not limited to Bryan Thomas, Paul Squier, Ted Odell, Clint fountain, shawn Butler and Tom Selman. Also the event would not happen if not for the generosity of John Salamone and Ray Beck. They both do a tremendous job.

They WERE pulling from 325 up to 375 for the previous tournaments. This was the Championship and they had 257 teams fish of qualified entries. Trailering allowed. Weigh-in after 3:00 Sat and Sunday. 2 High School contestants per boat team with Boat Captain Adult not contributing. Too many teams to launch from one Ramp. Very Very PROFESSIONALLY organized and run! ALL and I mean ALL of the Kids were better behaved than many adults I have seen at other tournaments. This says a lot considering all the young people that participated. The Event Organizers of the SETX and the volunteers made this an impressive event. (And they WERE NOT PAID EITHER!!!) It really humbles a person to see a young person soooo excited to catch just one or two smaller fish and not gripe about not having the biggest fish or stringer! Kinda puts things back in perspective for enjoyable fishing and even tournament fishing. thumb

Thanks Bigron119. The core group that runs SETX is the most dedicated and hardworking bunch of individuals I've ever worked with. We pride ourselves on putting on a show and like you mentioned we are all 100% volunteers. 100% of the entries and 100% of the fundraising goes directly to the kids. We gave right at $250,000 in scholarships and prizes away this year. We averaged 357 teams during our 5 qualifying events. Our largest being 376 which is the current record for a high school event. Anyone who has ever been to one of our events can attest to how organized and professional the tournaments are run. I am extremely proud to have been a part of getting this program started. With new schools contacting us already I'm sure that growth will continue to be in our future.

This is the first year for our club in the SETX and it has been a Blast! Every single one of our teams had fun. Looking forward to next season.
