I'll be following this thread also. I'm thinking of adding a 999 to the bow of my boat and every place seems to be hung up on selling at full retail. I have a 1199 now that I bought from Digital Oasis and it was a decent price, but they are even stuck on the $1499 thing.

Contact a marine electronics dealer. Typically they sell for less than MSRP for units and accessories. CALL them for their best prices.

To set up two boats for quick change of the XX9 models, the extra stuff needed is:
A cable collector for each unit

AS EC QDE Ethernet adaptor for each unit

Ethernet cable

Power cord for each PC-11

Transom Side Imaging transducer--XHS 9 HDSI 180 T

Shoot-thru dual beam transducer XP 9 20 if you have a fiberglass boat. If you use the two transducers for the console unit AS SIDB Y cable to connect them to the SI unit.

Trolling motor puck transducer if it is the DI version of the 859 XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T.
Trolling motor puck if it is the 2D version 859 XTM 9 20 T

Gimbal mount for each unless you use another mount attached to the gimbal mount like a RAM. For a RAM system, just two additional base balls.

I hooked the 859 in to the minkota transducer on my fiberglass rig so I have the factory transducer and a trolling motor mount for it does the shoot thru hull transducer show depths while boat is in motion over 5-7 mph? The transom mount won't on mineshould it?

A shoot-thru in a fiberglass hull works for on-plane depth readings IF installed correctly.
That includes testing on the water BEFORE attaching it to the hull.

The performance will only be as good as your installation.
A transom attached transducer will do the same IF installed correctly.
