Had a good day fishing the Salado Creek. Fished from 8:30am till 1pm and the bite was very good. Caught numerous Bluegill in the 6 to 7 inch range, some super nice Redbreast in the 8 and 9 inch range, some nice Longear in the 5 to 6 inch range, and a couple of greens in the 7 inch range rounded out the catch. Saw several very nice Longnose Gar swimming in the deeper pockets. The creek is in excellent condition with good current. The water was stained. Lots of heavy debris on the banks so you need to be very careful. Both bottom and float techniques were used. Fish were in 3 to 5 feet of water holding by brush piles. Worms was the bait of choice and all fish were released to fight again!

Salado definitely got healthy. The long dry spell really zonked out a few of the areas I would normally find Rios at.

Well is running by FSH again.

That creek has always been a good fishing spot for you. Nice fish.

Side Note: Looks like you are going to have to wait awhile for the Salado to clear up. Lots of rain fell yesterday. Also have you seen any Rios on that creek? Have not seen a Rio posting on the Salado in awhile.
