Nephew (a pastor) from Houston visited me today. So unko Todd took him to Hubbard from 8 to noon. We got skunked Doh Doh Doh! June is generally good on structures and schools but saw neither. Anyone doing any good out there besides the bait users? Hope someone is catching somewhere cuz my last few trips since the monsoon were extremely SLOW! Lavon dam gates are opened?? Water temp 83 degrees. It got hot and toasty at noon. Did launched at Chaha for the first time in about 3 years and it's good again. 4.5 ft at the wall. No crowds on a Wed, just three trailers We did went swimming, ate and shop at bps and had a good time with my nephew See you guys at the RHSA hybrid stocking tomorrow at noon.

I went out Wed in my kayak, original plan was to paddle from windsurf park and fish the hump at the end of the power plant jetty. I had luck there last friday slow rolling jigs in the shallows during the evening. However once I got out there, the wind was picking up and the rollers were just not any fun. I was out early 5:30pm ish and didn't get anything on the few casts I made. I paddled back to the car and moved to the Miller Road Bridge. I had good reports from the weekend getting big sandies around the Miller Road Bridge. I was going to work the rip rap, but once I got to the Bridge, I saw 2 bankers pull in sandies on inline spinners. So the unashamed potlicker that I am .. I anchored north of the bridge outside their casting range and joined in. I got a few on inline spinners close to the bottom. I had something hit it hard, pull line a bit but got off somehow. I also tried slabbing but no luck. I only took one home because he inhaled the spinner and was bleeding bad.

That's a BIG hubbard sandy! Thanks for the info, Rob. I knew the fish are somewhere on the lake and most likely up North of 30. But tomorrow may be different LOL.

We had been having luck with sandies the past two weeks. Some schooling, nothing to extensive. We went out today and caught 1. Disappointing. We were trying around the old power plant, deep water, shallow water, live bait, lures, just nothing biting. Thinking maybe they have gone deeper near the dam. That sailing club might not be a bad area. Let me know if you find em!

Sorry to hear about the slow day Wednesday. Sounds like you had fun with the family! I'm going out in the morning. Hope to see you out there!

Going back out Sat morning AM, staying off main lake, to much wind for me. Plan to kayak around miller road bridge again. Going to break down and bring some minnows as backup plan. Maybe those magnum sandies will still be up there.

A few bass boats and 2 center consoles and 1 pontoon came in sniffed around but didn't stay long .. other kayakers reported no look up there either. On the radio this morning 1080 AM , one of the guides from Ray Hubbard (I think Johnny Procel) said he noticed the water was stained, like the lake turned over and the fish would avoid that area and to look for clear water. I had no choice with the wind today, and the water wasn't very clear up north. Also a buide from RC or Cedar said the lake all ready formed a thermocline .. so my point is the lakes are not acting normal Hope are new little hybrids are doing okay. -rob out
