Lake level up 8' and rising, water muddy and no gates open.
They will wait until RC is back to normal level before letting out water.
So, bottom line it will be about 2 weeks before things will be back to normal.
By then crappie should be holding on structure in 12' - 14' of water....
Let the games begin.
Happy fishing......

8 Ft? I can't believe what I am hearing...that has to be flooding many areas around the lake...I got to go see this for myself.

That may take a while...chambers creek is out of bank above maypearl and flooded one of my cattle pastures (second time in two weeks.) I was thinking I needed to go cat fishing...sigh

Say, did any tornados hit around your home the other night? I heard it was headed toward Mertens/Frost, then we lost signal, so I didn't know what happened your way? Hope you missed it.

NM is 17.52' above normal.
ALL parks are closed.
NO one is allowed on the lake.
All parks will be closed through August, then Oak Park & Liberty Hill Park will be open.

Don't know if it matters or not, but they've been slowly closing gates at RC all week, and this morning they were all closed. The Trinity at Trinidad looked to have receded 4-5' since Tuesday also.

I see no reason Lake Bardwell or Navarro Mills is still holding water. Both lakes flow into RC which is now level. Any ideas on why they are still holding all this damn water? They'll start killing trees soon if water isn't released.

My guess is that they will empty those Trinity watershed lakes up in the Dallas area first. The Trinity can't handle all of it at once. Scary thing is, this new tropical system may flood the souther half of the state again by the end if the week. Crazy...
