Spraying auto clear is a bad Idea. It won't last long then it will look really bad plus it will be even harder to get off and do right. You need to put gelcoat back over the top cap.

What's the expense of that on s 21 ft bass boat? Hate to spend much on a 20 year old bass boat.

Might consider a wrap. May be less expensive.

Might consider a wrap. May be less expensive. Yeah, I have priced that as well. I just wanted to compare the two costs before making a decision

From what I've read, the auto clear will be a mess in a couple years.

I have clear coated several boats and have never had a issue. If it is prepped correctly it will last for years. My neighbor bout a boat from me in 97. Sold it last year, and the clear still looked brand new...

Depending on the type of clear and the shop materials and labor $1500- $2500 but remember you get what you pay for on a paint job. That's why most complain about it looking bad quality materials and work will look good and last

I was researching this a while back on a used and weathered Bullet I was thinking about buying and restoring. The best solution I came across by far I found on Bassboatcentral.com in the forums in restoration section. It seems that wet sanding and buffing the old finish will produce results that will bring a hull back to like new condition pretty much no matter how bad it is oxidized. Go on there and look at some of the boats this process has been done and see for yourself. I was blown away by the results they were getting......
