What is y'all go to set up? Leader? Weight? Lure? I typically use a 3/4oz with 2-2.5' of 15lb mono. Flukes and lizards are my favorite plastics. Anyone use the floating plastics? I haven't been able to find any lately.

Lightest tungsten I can get away with and keep good contact with the bottom. Glass bead. Check knot above swivel on regular basis. Leader length based on type of bottom or grass. Flouro. Lizard or centipede. I know folks have good luck with flukes but I don't have the confidence in one that I need to fish it more.

I don't throw a c rig much, but when I do, I'll use between a half to one ounce depending on conditions. Red glass bead, 2' to 4' flouro leader, as far as bait, pretty much anything goes, use whatever you are confident with. If you want awesome floating plastics see below.

Here's a good soft plastic for Carolina rigs. Hard to find any more.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

20 lb Fluoro, 15-17 lb fluoro leader 18-36 inches (The clearer the water, the longer the leader) 1/2 oz tung w glass bead in 10 ft, 3/4 for 10+, 1 oz for windy 15+ ft. Cant go wrong with a Zoom Magnum Lizard in just about any color. Fluke's work well too, but I tend to move them faster and "pop" them more than a lizard to get them to dart around.

Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.

I throw mainly a split shot rig and usually a baby brush hog trailing 18-24 inches behind

Oh the old creme lures! Haven't seen those in awhile. Used to use those for drop shots.

50lb braid mainline to 20lb big game leader. Weight depends on depth and wind. Usually throwing a rattlesnake/ringfry/brush hog on the end.

The whole idea of having sinker on a C rig is keep it on the bottom.
Digging into the bottom, tumbling, kicking up mud, silt & making ruckus.
I never go lighter than 1oz even 2oz. cast farther, get to bottom faster.
Mojo rig for shallows 1/8 oz.

Tungsten with a glass bead is a horrible idea. The tungsten WILL crack the bead and it'll start cutting your line. You can't use the two together. If you want a bead you should use a synthetic one with tungsten weights. I've learned this the hard way a few times. . .

50lb main with 3/4 ounce lead weight(cheap and I don't cry if I lose them) bead(plastic cause they are cheap) and clacker to swivel. 2ish foot of 17 or 20lb leader with 4/0 hook... Baby brush hog 90% of the time
