Does anyone know if the bass have started schooling in Bastrop yet? I was there a few weeks ago and there were schools of shad everywhere. Thought the bass would be having a feast but never saw a school bursting the water.

Appreciate your response. Thought the fish would be very active on top by now. Hope they start soon.

Historically no, but these days, yes. 50-100 fish days on Bastrop schoolies in June used to be extremely regular. Now they don't generate as much so the water temperature probably is not in the mid to high 90s like it typically was in June.

I would not say its in session yet. I caught 14 yesterday in one isolated school by the dam in an hour and a half. The wind was up and white caps made it tough to see them. They were only up for about 15 minutes. They went down and I kept casting to where they were and they would blow up pretty good on my bait. Ended the day with 26 total.

Wishicaughtmore yes both North and South shores have camping sites. North has R.V. hookups and tent sites. South has some nice cabins and R.V. hookups. The cabins book quick so plan ahead.
