Never been. Thinking about taking the boat our tomorrow, but don't want to battle all of the skeeter bugs on Fork. Anything to look out for running the lake? Any tips? Thanks!

I have fished Quitman many times but years ago. Would always start very early before any light and from the boat ramp just use the trolling motor towards the dam and throw a small topwater like a Tiny Torpedo fish that shoreline around the spillway then part of the dam then head back the other way and just fish shoreline and docks with a worm. Always did better fishing that way than any other area on the lake.

I have had success with a spook style bait there, around the docks and points.

You can run the main lake down the middle no problem, idle back into coves and idle about 150 yards before you get to the island up in the NE part of the lake if you don't know it, best to use caution.
