Everyone talked me out of taking my dad to Squaw for his birthday friday. Has any one been on Aquilla the last week or two? Shows less than 3' above full so I can't imagine the FM 1947 ramp not being open. Thanks, 361.

We drove down to the Dairy Hill Ramp at Vaughn Tuesday evening... it was locked. The lake looks great. There was a little line of trash across the parking lot just bellow the restroom.. would take all of 15 minutes to clear it. The big parking lot was locked at both ends.
I donno... the COE / government seems to work at a different pace and with different priorities than most folks... can't understand why it is not open. We have launched there and fished the lake when it was 2 feet higher. Strange times we live in.

The west side of the dam/spillway area was high enough that we used the TM to move the boat over barbed wire fences. It was a good day fishing that lake with bass burying deep back into tall grass.

Yep. I've been @ higher levels also. Can't imagine why it's not open now. Guess I'll get back on it when all that new flooded vegetation is high and dry again :-) :-(.

A guy from the COE told me it would be around two weeks after the lake goes down. He said the reason is to keep from breaking the boat ramps from the waterlogged soil. The lake should open by the end of June or early July. That is if we don't receive any more heavy rains.
