Call before you head out there. The roa to the lake d is closed due to "road repairs" road blocks and a sign on the gate.

I don't know when it closed or when it will be open again but will post when I find out.

Just called the city. Was told it would be "closed for a week".

It would take more than a week to make a dent in the repairs needed for that road. The whole thing needs to be plowed up and replaced. I doubt very seriously that they will ever spend the money to do it, though. I am still waiting for the ramp repairs they have been promising for years.

I just spoke with the Caretaker. They said that an indentation has appeared in the road and they have to fix it. The rains have hampered this. I also asked if anything has been done to the boat ramp/launch area. They said that a few things have been done but they couldn't elaborate. If anyone gets down there in the near future, please let us know what they've done. Maybe one of these days it will stop raining.

They also had floating grass build up around the water outlet(b/c there's a chainlink fence around the top of it). So the lake was several feet high. You couldn't see the boat ramp and water was nearly to the bridge as you drive in. They were working on removing it yesterday.

That road is a patch-work that would make knitting grandmother jealous.

Just spoke with the city's office. They hope to reopen Friday but she said call before you head that way if anyone wanted to know.

Update.

The lake is lake is now open BUT... there will be no more 3 day passes issued at the gate. If you want a pass you must go to city hall M-F and purchase either the 3 day pass or a yearly pass.

Watch out throwing a buzz bait there. Gators will eat it.

Did the caretaker die or something? What gives on the not being able to get the three day passes at the gate?

I liked it better when it was $2 a day and you saw 1 boat a week. That place was unreal late 90's and early 2000's.

Im sure there have been times when he was away from the house but someone showed up needing a pass. Easier for city to have it in one spot.
