Too funny if that scared you. Not sure what it was... Could have been a gunshot or an arrow wound and then attracted turtles.

But I'm thinking you really should rethink your TFF handle. laugh

Hey Action Jackson,

I tube a lot in the summer time. Ive never been bothered by turtles, snakes, etc. My legs hitting underwater stumps and grass/weeds is kinda creepy. Especially at night time. Also, night fishing brings out the beavers that just love smacking their tails right next to you. You will be fine my friend

My advice is to get out there and enjoy that new tube. But with the fears you've mentioned you might take along a patient and understanding friend. That way if something minor happens he can reassure you and keep you from panic.

Turtles will never bother you. Perch might come up and nip at the hairs on your leg and that's annoying but it rarely happens. Overall you will be fine. Once you gain some confidence you might get brave enough to go night fishing in a float tube. That's a whole new experience and not for the faint hearted. When once sense is deprived the others can be overwhelmed pretty easy. Little things become big things at night when you can't see around you except where the light on your head is shining.

But it's a blast!!!

Action I'd be happy to go with you sometime. Your really over thinking it. But if some some crazy reason you do sell your new ODC420 let me know.

Man I really appreciate it fella's! I guess when I saw the pic I start thinking the worse possible stuff that could've happen to the fish. Gators even crossed my mind but now I see its not all that bad, as yall stated above! Plus i wouldn't be fishing around banks so I should be fine! I guess once I actually get out there it'll be a different story! Still deciding on what I wana do with the tube honestly. A 2 man boat is sounding real good right now lol but we'll see how it goes!

KD...maybe I'll go on an adventure soon an get over that fear of being "attacked"

Spiderjig...sounds good! I'll let cha know when I'm available an still up to it! Still need flippers an a rod holder too. Not sure which lake the carp was caught at.

We spotted a good sized alligator snapper earlier.
I don't know if they are a threat to tubers or not.
That is the first time I have ever been to Quitman but I plan to
try out the belly boat when the water get warmer.

I've seen lots of fish injured like this. It happens when the fish is near the surface and gets caught by a boat prop. Even Gar and alligator bites look different. They tend to shred the flesh while trying to grip. Not like a shark which has teeth that will cut uniform chunks. Definitely a boat prop.
