Hey all. Been a saltwater fisherman for the majority of my life. I don't own a boat or a way to transport one. I feel that saltwater fishing is much better without access to a boat than freshwater is. That being said, I'm looking to get into freshwater fishing. Mainly bank/pond/private dock fishing. Wherever I can get to with my feet. Bass Pro Shops opens up here in Round Rock tonight (which I'm super excited about) so I'm planning on going to get all new gear for freshwater. Ironically enough, the 2 reels I'm looking at are saltwater rated. I'm looking at picking up a Stradic ci4+ 2500 and a Revo Inshore. Probably mating the Stradic to a St. Croix Legend Elite (ML-F) and the Revo to a Veritas (MH-F). Both 7ft. Can anyone help me out with an essential tackle list for freshwater/bass? Lures to terminal tackle. Hook sizes, swivel types, COLORS (a couple safe options), etc. would all be appreciated. Also, if anyone knows some great fishing spots around the Austin area that are easily accessible by foot I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks all and have a nice day.

Are you looking for largemouth bass, white bass, or hybrid bass?

Wow..HUGE question. I'd start with purple, black,and pink "Creme" worms with the spinner blade and beads and a handful of cheap H&H spinner baits in various color combinations,I like black/white, black/gold/, and black/chartreuse, maybe a couple rooster tails. Using those you could be pretty well kitted out for $20 or so and able to catch anything that swims. This will get you catching fish, worry about the more expensive stuff as you learn the area. Just me. Best of luck!
