Was thinking of launching in the north end of ray hubbard this weekend. Wondering if anyone knows if this ramp is open yet. Know the ramp is wet but wondering if the city has gotten around to moving the barriers or if there were any to begin with. I haven't been up that way in several months. Its rough tryin to get off the lake with the summer crowd of wake boats and jet skiers. Thought I'd launch up where I know they wont be.

It's open and in good shape, but i'd would stay away on the weekend. Last week it was terrible.

Thanks. Yea I put in at bay view last Sunday and got off the water around 2 pm. And man it was packed. Thats why I figured I'd try that ramp on 66. Didnt think it would be crowded but youre saying it gets crowded too? Didnt figure many would put in on the north end of the lake.

Hubbard will be even more crowded this year because of other lakes being closed. Ramp has it good points. It is protected and has a dock but has limited parking. Parking may actually help reduce crowding somewhat. The south ramp is pretty steep so some people do not like to use it. I only launch up there in early spring so I cannot tell you how crowded it is now.

It can become a nightmare on that ramp. More people launch from there than you think. It does get very crowded and with people not knowing how to load/unload it can take awhile.

the not knowing is true at most ramps. 3 can launch side by side easily at Robertson but I cannot tell you when I last saw it. Most people just do not understand the whole process and the things they can do to make it more efficient. The lady at Robertson on Sunday was a prime example. She was almost out at the boat houses when her husband backed in. There are times when the trailer has not even stopped moving backwards and I am on it lining up.
