I have a medium quantum smoke that feels very "flimsy" and I was wondering what you guys would suggest I use it for. I used it for traps and cranks just to do it and lost very few fish but I want to get the most out of the rod because it seems very sensitive.

Weightless soft plastics such as flukes and sinkos, although I typically prefer a 7' rod.

6'6 Medium would probably be my topwater rod.

Small crankbaits, dropshot, shakey head

Drop shot, split shot, or shakey head

I use that exact same rod for jerk baits.

I know it sounds dumb, but I don't use a rod weaker than MH. I've found that the techniques I'd normally use a M rod for can be done just as well with a MH rod with a little slower tip than usual. There's nothing worse than hooking a fish and having a wet noodle in your hands, tip bending to the reel . . .after getting overpowered buy a few fish a few summers ago, I said never again.

Sounds like a good crank bait or top water rod.

I hate medium action rods so I don't use them. If I had to use it.. Prob drop shot only

I used a rod like that for a long time for Senko's and shakey head fishing.. I lost a lot of fish because of not enough backbone on the hook set. I would suggest fishing baits that don't require a big hook set to catch fish.. anything with treble hooks on it comes to my mind. I have retired that rod.

jerk bait... not a fluke though, I lean hard on those guys
