What's your favorite set-up for Pop-X and Ricos? I haven't found one that I really like. Mono or braid?

I use an older Falcon Cara 5'10" pistol grip rod. It's shorter length keeps it from slapping the water. I pair it with a Shimano Curado B series reel. 12lb. Big Game mono.
