Hello, I'm new to the forum. I'll be visiting Rockport next week and plan to rent a bay boat over by Aransas Pass. Would someone please share a little information about looking for redfish and seatrout this time of year. I was looking at a chart and it looks like a huge amount of water and I'm trying to narrow down what I should be looking for in the bay. What type of area may hold fish? What type of depth range? Is there much grass? Are there oyster bars? This time of year what are the fish usually feeding on and lure selection or natural bait? Does tide affect the fish much and where they move? Does wind direction for a few days affect where they move? Any information would be very much appreciated. I've heard stories about how good the fishing can be and I'm really excited to check it out.
Thank you, strandman

Redfish and trout action have been good - grass beds or shell reefs are both producing.
Live shrimp, croakers or plum/chartreuse soft plastics
