Academy just exchanged my Abu Garcia Veritas 7' H Casting Rod with the Veritas 2.0 after it snapped in half on Lake Athens during the Capital City tournament frog fishing. I called them today and told them I honestly broke by hitting something and they said "no problem, we'll take care of it". Now I would have understood if it was a broken guide, or a factory defect, but it snapped it half is a whole different thing and I told them if was my fault. Now I have a new 7'9" heavy pitching rod. Haha

NICE! I bought a combo there on a Saturday, had them spool it with house mono for free. Then the next day they had a much better combo on sale for the same price. I called up there and they exchanged it no problem. Even spooled the new one too!

Never had a problem with Academy on returns as long as you have your receipt. That policy changed from several years back when you could bring in a rod and just exchange it without a receipt. I wouldn't have believed it had I not done it myself!

Well I went in today and the mgr said I Iucked out cause they shouldn't be doing that.
I don't know if he was just having a bad day because they have ALWAYS taken care of me but if in the future you should know there is a chance they won't swap out.
