So after much thought and frustration I found a way to mount my ducer I'm a way that was satisfactory to me. It bad to be low drag and easy to transport. I ended up using one of my son's dump truck plastic toys as the mounting bracket. Works like a charm.

These chirp transducers are quite large compared to regular dsi

As you can see I also had to extend the mounting location of the rudder so that it clears the ducer.

Thank you! and yes sir, it was a bold move and hopefully I won't regret it.

I drilled the hole a tad smaller than the bolt so I was able to use the hole as a 'thread lock' if you will; I actually had to get out my socket set to get the bolt through both holes as I couldn't hand turn it. I then added a lot of Lexel adhesive on both sides of the hole to assure a tight seal. after that I plastic welded all around the bolt on both sides. 3 levels of protection should be enough as I don't think that area will get much if any flex in it.

I got this used kayak at a very good price so i'm willing to risk a bit more to get things the way I want them.
