This is what Matt Herren said about a particular professional angler. What do you guys think?

"I finished 43rd here on Kentucky Lake. Today was an experience I'll never forget! I've fished professionally for many years and have a lot of respect for the anglers I compete against. There is one angler that lost that respect today! He runs a Ranger Boat that is wrapped by Academy Sports. This so called professional angler decided to fish a weekend pot tournament on Kentucky Lake today. In doing so he wound up on my best area. When I arrived at the area he had a list of reasons for being there? There's no excuse! As a professional angler you stay off bodies of water that your not competing on as a courtesy to other professional anglers! I believe this angler needs to grow up!"

Disappointed. I was a Wheeler fan, but this was definitely extremely disrespectful to Herren. Those little green fish and some money can make some people do stupid things sometimes.

Jacob response ,,,,,,,,Just to make sure everyone knows, as soon as Matt pulled up I left the place to him immediately. I'm sorry you had a rough day, but I don't think I could have done anything differently. I had no idea that you were fishing that place and gave it to you out of respect. That fruit jar tournament was for 5k this weekend and I promised a long time friend that I would fish the event with him. Anytime a fellow pro pulled anywhere close to me I left immediately. Which by the way only happened once more throughout the day.

He would have been better off if he told the longtime friend, " sorry I can't fish this one, the Elites are here that week". It wouldn't be hard to envision that being on the Lake at the same time was going to cause a issue like this. Nothing to stop him from fishing the tournament like he did. Passing on the tournament to me would have been a better option.

There is what you can do and what is the right thing to do.

Silly! Just plain silly to think that one anglers tournament day is more important than anothers.

Not a big deal. He can fish whatever whenever. Now if he would have stayed when herren pulled, then there is an issue but even then whats the difference what tournament it is if he found the fish. If jacobs partner witnessed herren on the spot earlier in the week and then took jacob there, thats an issue.

It's the importance of the tournament and the money difference combined with the fact that you fish at the same level. These are your peers. It's not the same as some local stick fishing it.

It's do unto others as you would have them do to you. If the shoe was on the other foot would he see it the same way? There will be some that see it as ok and some that don't.

Maybe given the chance to do it again Wheeler would play it differently. Maybe he wouldn't.

The Elites think they are special and some are azzes about spots but the way I see it if you have multiple tournys going on whoever is at the spot first has every right to stay and fish Elite guy or no Elite guy shouldnt matter who is going to win more money. Matt still wouldnt have made the cut anyways just something to bitch about.
