Hey I have an idea. Why don't we encourage all the skiers and jet fleas to go to MC and they could leave all the other lakes alone. I always thought MC was a ski and race lake, never thought about fishing there.

Nicholas Kissam Did it ever occur to you to check the TRWD website to see if any events were scheduled in advance of holding an unauthorized/unapproved fishing tournament? (http://www.trwd.com/events) Did it ever occur to you that the TRWD as the owner of the lake is the organization that pre-approves all lake closures, and actually closes it? This means access is controlled by the TRWD itself and you are angry at the wrong group. Did it ever occur to you that for you to hold a fishing tournament, you would have needed permission from the TRWD to hold such an event, to include specific plans for parking, security, concessions, alcohol sales, site cleanup, restroom facilities, insurance certificates and permit/event fees? Did you ever stop to consider that there are 3-4 other large bodies of water in the immediate area that would be better suited facilities and game-wise for your tournament than attempting to pillage tiny Marine Creek Lake for the small fish populations that it does have? Your accusations of fires, alcohol consumption and trash need to be directed towards the real offenders: the riff raff, the gang bangers and the fishermen that have no respect for the site and think that your tax dollars are used for site cleanup, when it is the ski club who keeps the site clean. The fact of the matter is, your poor excuse for planning an unauthorized fishing tournament without contacting the proper authorities will and should be viewed as unlawful, and I would not be surprised if charges and/or litigation is brought against you for wasting the TRWDs time/effort spent on this matter. Best advice to you is to admit you made a mistake, do not have the intelligence to properly plan an event, apologize to the folks you promised an event to, the TRWD and the ski club, then tuck your tail in between your legs and go home to cry to mama.

BTW, IIRC, I believe there are no jet skis allowed on Marine Creek Lake and no tubes unless you are with the club.

You just go to love these militant first posts...at any rate...TRWD might have money to improve Marine Creek and perhaps build a ramp on the east side of Eagle Mountain if they would stop building bridges over dry land in Fort Worth.

Would one of those water displacement air bags keep those pesky skiers out of marine creek?

Probably but Lee would hook it and bust it with his Livingston Lures!

I read the whole thread and didn't see anything about a tournament until the green horn brought it up. The way I understand it...is the OP was concerned about the TRWD closing the lake a few times a year.
