Though trip from the start because I had both my 4 year old and my 6 year old with me. I usually only like to take one or the other because they love to argue and pester easy other.

I got some shad and headed south. I found a grassy point and anchored up. I put out four lines with cut shad and fished three punch bait lines. I caught one dink off the punch bait and my 4 year old caught one skinny little 17" channel cat.

I even broke out chum that was probably older than both of my kids. It had kind of a moldy film on top of the liquid. I poured that off and it still smelled like sour milo so I gave it a try. I think it might be time to make a new batch.

Overall it was pretty slow. Channel cats are not my speciality and neither is Lake Arlington.

That lake is fished out for sure I've seen slot of people catch and not release and there is probably an issue with the water flowing south to north that cause the fishing to suck

yes the water does flow the wrong way
plenty of fish in there though
fish rock banks on the East side

the fish are still shook up from the flood
water has fluctuated at least 12 foot in a few days
