I figured I would start the thread that Dr Bois recommended. If at all possible, please post a picture of the bait along with the paint schedule. I don't know about everyone else, but I do better looking at pictures of baits rather than reading instructions.

Base coat white.
Coat of white pearl.
Light coat of iridescent yellow along the top half of the bait.
Sterling silver dabbed on a craft sponge that I trimmed to the size I wanted the splotches.
Gunmetal gray and Wicked blue to shade the back, around the eyes, and to under the gill plates(Dr Bois). I used several coats to prevent darkening too much too fast.
Iridescent turquoise over the shaded back(Dr Bois)
Metallic black ear
Sterling silver on the gill plate markings.(not that noticeable, but makes them slightly more visible)
6mm fish eyes.
D2T mixed with clear extra fine glitter top coat.

This is a pretty simple paint schedule that works well in off color waters. All the colors used were Opaque, Transparent and Pearl Createx Airbrush paints. texas

Sweet Pea
Mix yellow with white for the base coat (more white than yellow).
Spray bright yellow from gill to tail staying above the lateral line.
Wrap the lure in small scale mesh.
Mix bright blue with yellow and spray over the back from nose to tail and misting over the shoulders
Mix orange with white (more white than orange) for the throat area. Mist from bill to belly hook.
Mix black with white for the kill dot. Dot is level with the eyes and at the centerline.
Lightly mist the entire lure with pearl white.
Add gold or red eyes.

Not sure where this schedule came from but its a good easy to paint Threadfin pattern. Again all with Createx Airbrush colors. I tweaked the colors just a bit to make it "pop" in sunlight a little better. texas

Quick Threadfin

Base with Opaque white
Spray the entire lure with Pearl White
Use some painters tape to mask a line and spray a lateral line with Pearl Copper
Spray the back staying above the lateral line with Pearl Turquoise
Spray Opaque Black down the backbone and place a kill dot on both sides of the bait.*
Add gold or silver eyes

* Spray thru mesh for a scale effect. Use a pencil eraser dipped in black paint to put a kill dot on the upper back just a little above eye level.

ok this one is so simple even i could do it. a 1.5 medium diver and a 2.5 square bill bleeding bait. all createx paints.

1. base coat with opaque white
2. shoot the whole bait with pearl platinum
3. mist detail sepia down the back to add some depth
4. use bright red and a small corner of an artist sponge (more coarse texture) to dab on the blood. the gill lines were done with a fine tip sharpie.
5. add black eyes
6. clear coat with devcon 2. added a small amount of generic glitter to the epoxy
you could add some orange or yellow on the throat. i thought it took away from the red

This is a good pattern to use under dark skies like you get just before a thunderstorm. All Createx Airbrush colors. Add some black glitter on the back and just a touch of gold glitter to the belly for a little more flash. texas

Mustard Splatter

Opaque white base coat.
Yellow (chartreuse) down to the belly.
Yellow orange sides (more orange than yellow).
Pale red on the belly behind the front hook hanger and again at the throat.
Large scale mask.
Dark grey on the back, nose and around the eyes.
Mist with pearl silver or white.
Splatter with opaque black.
Use whatever eye color you like.
