Most of the major brands have a sizing reference on their web sites. Whether you're a low angle or high angle paddler will affect the shape of the blade you should use. Check out the web sites for AquaBound, Werner, and Bending Branches.

I'm a high angle paddler and have a Bending Branches Slice Hybrid Plus paddle ($179) and an AquaBound Manta Ray Posi-Lok paddle ($189). They are light and have carbon shafts. The AquaBound has a larger blade.

$200 should get you a pretty good paddle.

Do you have the Carbon or Hybrid Manta Ray?

The charts found on those websites have yet to take into account the wider and higher seating of newer kayaks.

To get a better idea of what paddle length we need to know how tall you are.

Since the Predator has Hi/Lo seating I wouldn't get anything under 250cm if you're a high angler paddler and 260 if you're a low angler paddler.

I have had a Predator 13 for 6 months and bought a 240cm paddle that works especially in the low position but is a little too short when the seat is in the high position. If I were buying paddle now would now get a 250cm paddle but I saw at the ACK demo days paddles which the length can be adjusted. If I buy another paddle it will probably be one of those expensive ones.

Predator 13 owner here, using the Aquabound Manta Ray Hybrid 250cm and I wouldn't go any shorter for sure. Great paddle, bought it at Mariner Sails for $139 a few months ago.

I have the 12 foot Pescador and was told the 220 was the right size I know better now and would agree the 240 minimum, the 250 would be far better.
