Went there yesterday, to do a little scouting and some fishing. Caught 18, sorry no pics, left my phone in the truck. most were around 12 inches and let me tell ya, those bass in Winnsboro are just as mean as the ones on Fork, they like taken them away from ya at the boat too.

Fished mainly brush piles I would find, mostly 18 ft, and they were about 2 cranks up. They would knock the fire out of the Black Emerald Shad ( by Thermocline Lures ) on a 1/6th oz jig head. I was double rigging and had a plain head on bottom and a Blue head about a foot above, didn't matter, caught fish on both

Only fished at Winnsboro once but loved it. It was (then) a gorgeous like.

On average, your heart beats 100,000 times a day. One day, one of those heartbeats will be your last. Then what?

The answer is found in Jesus Christ who said "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10

Thanks for the report! I am thinking about about driving up there Thurs with my boat. I have never fished it from a boat can you give any pointers? I`m not asking for your Honey Holes just a general location to target.

Lake Winnsboro does not see the number of boats as the big lake so it is a easy to fish. The color will be what ever works that day with blue, yellow being top colors. The second color on Winnsboro is Monkey Milk and the tube type jigs most days will work. If fishing for fish to eat stay on the brush, but if you get what you want the big crappie as on most lakes will be on the outside of the brush, just fish it from the outside in.

Papamark, thanks for the report. I've been wanting to see a different body of water, so I think I'll take the opportunity to fish Winnsboro. Plus, based on the accurate and excellent report from the Happy Fisherman, I just can't resist fishing this body of water, never did like having to catch, clean and cook all of those "Slabs".....lol....offered in with good humor in mind.....
