Is pelican island producing any fish? Or are the fish by the wind sock? Haven't fished this lake since about 2 months ago

All depends on the day. Was out last Wednesday and pelican was covered up with whites and under hybrids. Went out for a few hours Saturday afternoon and did not mark a single fish on Pelican or any of the points off of 309 flats. All the fish were on the South side of the lake stacked up on some of the smaller less fished points. The fish move fast. Best bet is to learn your electronics and let it tell you where the fish are.

I was out there tonight and found some on the north west side of the 309 flats. Not a fish at windsock, pelican or old 287 road bridge. Last Thursday we tore them up at Pelican. Tuesday night we got into some keeper Hybrid at windsock point.

I think it will be a tough weekend!

Pretty much the same as above for me, found a good concentration on the W side of the 309 flats yesterday evening but about 30 minutes into catching a boat show started showing up, which is fine, but when a camo War Eagle came within literally inches of bumping into me I had to call it a day or my temper would've gotten the better of me... Haha I expect that kind of stuff on wkends but not during the week!

Hey green epic........... was you in the green cc? My wife and I watched all that develop. We were in a blue and white frontier cc and stayed just south of the show about 75 yards. I would have been chapped, too. That is why I don't do boat shows.

Yesir it sure was, y'all are always very respectful when fishing around others. I'll have to pull up and meet y'all sometime, if I can ever be of any help pointing you towards fish I'd sure be glad to help!

That was me in the CAMO CC. Sometimes people drift into you. It wasn't like I just motored over to you. If you remember I was in front of you and was drifting. Its hard to watch who you drift into sometimes. Everyone was within 20 ft of each other anyway. You and I were talking and why didn't you mention this? I would have gladly trolled further away. If my boat piloting skills upset you say something to me. I'm an easy going guy and there was plenty of fish to be caught. Heck after you left the action got better. The water boiled for awhile also. By the way. Nice boat. Sorry I pissed you off.

No problem, and thanks for the apology and compliment. It wasn't that big of a deal, just rubbed me wrong at the time. There was plenty of fish, so that's why I didn't see the need to crowd other folks. My trolling motor was spotlocked, so that's why I wasn't drifting. I didn't want to offend anyone so I just kept my opinions to myself at the time, and needed to get back to the house anyway. I'm fortunate enough to get to fish almost everyday so I wasn't gonna let something little like that ruin someone elses good time. Take care, and if I can ever be of any help pointing you towards fish on the water, don't hesitate to stop by and ask.

I started to head that way, but when I saw the boat show I decided to head elsewhere. smile
I picked up some magnum sandies off Feguson Point with no boat in sight. They were a small group though. Hard to stay on them. Found other small groups of larger sandies on minor south side points as mentioned before. They just seem scattered right now.

Hey green epic I'm out with some family this weekend and trying to get on some fish I've been to this lake a few times but not as familiar as you are. Any tips or direction you can put me on some fish? Just trying to enjoy it without going out empty handed. Any help is much appreciated!

Windsock is slower right now than usual. But it's still my go to for the big hybrids. Just slower. The water level is causing the fishing patterns to be a little different than normal. It's good to see the 16-17" fish. Next year should be a banner year foe Hybrid at RC.
