I had the chance to sneak out after work and fish with Jim at Lake Athens guide service last Friday. We hit the water around 4:00 and fished till 8:30. We did not find any big girls but the fun fish were lights out. I love to see a bass chase down and eat a top-water! We had 37 bass from 2 to 4.5 lbs. A lot of fun after a loooonnnnngggggggggggg rain delay. The lake is in great shape. If you want to get on the water and catch some fish with a great guide give Jim a call, 972-849-5698.

New grill & shop opened at the boat ramp.
"LAKESIDE GRILL" open 6am--7pm
breakfast, lunch, snacks, drinks & I don't know what all else.
Looks rather "clean" & lots of pic-nic tables outside.

Nice. Glad there's a restaurant back up on that lake--did anybody recommend they keep up the tradition of a pot of beans? Nothing better than that when getting off the lake on a chilly fall or winter day.

Any tournaments there this weekend?

Went out earlier this week and whacked em anywhere from 1-16ft

It is not a restaurant. It is a "grill" inside the bait shop.
Burger -- hot dog -- grilled cheese
Snacks-- drinks-- ice
Beer & Wine on weekends
