My dad and I have catfished Hubbard for years and use to have luck with crappie. 8-10 years ago. Recently we have been finding some white bass near the old power plant but have not been able to get on some crappie. We use to have luck over in the lily pads by the shores golf course but it seems to be overrun with gar's now.

Has anyone had luck finding crappie where there are gar or should we just start looking elsewhere? We do have a boat and probably out on the lake at least once a week.

Thanks for the tip!

I've never had much luck finding quality brush piles on hubbard despite hours/years of trolling. Not sure if were in the completely wrong area or what. We have trolled on the North side of 66 and under that bridge with no luck before, we don't have a huge boat so we usually pick if were going to cat fish or sand bass/ hybrid fish. We either launch on the public ramp near bay view, or 66 public boat ramp.

Any more tips would be greatly appreciated, my dad and I would love to learn to catch crappie at hubbard since I live in Rowlett rather then drive to cooper or ray roberts!

We're headed out now. Hopefully I'll have a good report of some crappie!

Only have gotten one keeper today. Taking a lunch break and back to trolling around this afternoon.
